Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Everyday

We believe Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is an everyday practice. Our goal is to ensure that the values of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion are engrained in our company culture so they sit at the forefront of our thinking everyday and inform everything we do—from our interactions as professionals internally, to ensuring the diversity of our suppliers, to engaging in our communities. It matters.

It matters because we are committed to bettering ourselves and our communities. And because it matters, we have dedicated senior leadership to ensure the ongoing education of our internal community as well as a rotating committee of Forrest Solutions professionals who support, advise and co-create key initiatives that keep our community learning, connecting, and understanding every day, including these:

  • To encourage and create the conditions for respectful dialogue and exploration of diverse ideas, topics, perspectives, and issues to enrich our organization.
  • To promote equitable access through job responsibilities, leadership opportunities, and employment.
  • To enhance opportunities by encouraging all to share their cultural experiences and identities, allowing others to learn from this exchange.
  • To strive to prepare staff from all backgrounds to foster respect, understanding, awareness, pluralism, and cooperation in an increasingly complex, diverse, global society

Forrest Solutions and its employees have a long-standing history of social responsibility; supporting numerous organizations, partnering with community groups, and offering career counseling resources.

Here are just a few of our partnerships:

Opportunities for a Better Tomorrow (OBT)

OBT is a non-profit serving youths from low-income communities of New York City since its inception in 1983. With an ambitious mission of helping disadvantaged youth and adults recognize their own self-worth, and advance towards self-sufficiency and financial security through job training, academic reinforcement, improved life skills, job placement, and support services, Opportunities for a Better Tomorrow (OBT) leans on strong partners to make their mission a reality. We are proud that throughout our years of partnering together, Forrest Solutions has guided about 45 interns a year through the program and has hired over 100 of OBT’s graduates

Phipps Neighborhoods Summer Youth Employment Program

Phipps Neighborhoods was established in 1972 as the human services affiliate of Phipps Houses, the oldest and largest affordable housing developer in New York City. Forrest Solutions is proud to be a partner of Phipps Neighborhoods Summer Youth Employment Program. In addition to hands on learning, interns attend Forrest Solutions University or FSU, a micro-learning management system designed to allow our interns opportunities to learn in small, digestible chunks, anytime and anywhere they want. We have set up a curriculum on this platform with courses assigned based on roles, skill level, and employees’ specific needs.
